The time Avatour has saved us in travel and meetings has been great, as we have scientists that typically would have come on site for production trials, and we would have to schedule around their travel plans.”

Logging in remotely, the scientists are able to view the trial from home and within our schedule – so less travel and less change of the plant production schedule
means a more efficient production trial for our team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from continuous improvement teams evaluating Avatour.

Yes. Avatour streams live 360° video from the Gemba — the factory floor, warehouse, or wherever the work happens — giving every remote participant their own independent viewpoint. They can look around freely, observe workflows in context, and engage with on-site personnel in real time, just as they would during an in-person walk. Multiple stakeholders can join simultaneously, each looking at what matters to them.

Avatour makes it practical to visit the Gemba more frequently — which is the foundation of any effective continuous improvement programme. Teams can conduct live walkthroughs or record 360° sessions for asynchronous review, capture annotated snapshots to document issues and corrective actions, and share recordings across locations to spread best practices. The reduction in travel cost and scheduling friction means CI teams can sustain a cadence of visibility that's not feasible with in-person visits alone.

Yes. Avatour's Quick Capture feature lets operators record 360° video of SMED exercises, line changeovers, standard work procedures, and other on-site activities without an internet connection. Those recordings are then uploaded to a Workspace where teams at other sites can review them independently or together in a meeting. This makes it straightforward to document and transfer methods across a multi-site operation.

Yes — and this is one of the most common use cases. Rather than coordinating travel for executives, customers, or subject matter experts to visit a site, Avatour lets you bring them virtually on-site either in real time or via a recorded walkthrough. Each participant has their own independent 360° view, making it a genuinely useful experience rather than a passive video stream.

Yes. Avatour's AI generates a meeting summary automatically after each session. Where a checklist template has been uploaded in advance, a pre-filled Checklist Report is also produced based on the session audio — useful for structured CI reviews or audit follow-ups. Participants can also add timestamped notes and annotate snapshots during or after the session. All AI outputs are drafts for human review.

Not entirely — and it's not intended to. The value of Avatour for CI teams is that it makes the Gemba accessible far more frequently than travel allows. Most customers use it to dramatically increase the cadence of remote visits while reserving in-person time for hands-on intervention and relationship building. More visibility, more often, at a fraction of the cost.

Avatour offers a short-term pilot programme. The hardware ships pre-configured and is ready to use on arrival. Remote participants join via a standard web browser — no software installation required. Most customers are running their first live Gemba walk within days of receiving the kit.
