Usage Types and Avatour Kit Deployment Modes

Usage Types

The Avatour platform is built around three core usage types. These can be used independently or combined within the same workspace and workflow.

01
Live 360° Video Meetings

Run real-time 360° video conferences with multiple remote participants, each with their own independent point of view. Requires an Avatour-supported 360° camera and internet connectivity at the site.

Multi-participant Real-time Internet required
  • Each remote participant controls their own viewpoint independently
  • Meeting tools: spotlight, point-of-view sharing, lock view
  • Snapshots, notes, tasks, and checklists during the session
  • AI-generated meeting summary and topics on the timeline
  • Live session is automatically recorded for later review
02
Sync & Async Collaboration on Recorded 360° Video

Record a 360° video at any time — from a live session or standalone — then review, annotate, and discuss it as a team. Available on demand 24/7, with no need to coordinate schedules for the initial capture.

On demand 24/7 Sync or async
  • Upload from any 360° camera — no Avatour kit required for recording
  • Notes and dialog boxes anchored to positions and moments in the video
  • Tasks with type and status for structured issue follow-up
  • Notes overview, summaries, and PDF reports for documentation
  • Shareable links for assets, POVs, notes, and workspaces
  • Schedule a meeting for joint review with any number of participants
03
Solo Inspections with AI Capture & Reporting

A single operator walks a site and records a 360° video offline — no internet required. AI processes the recording to generate a structured inspection report, ready for review and sharing.

Solo operator No internet needed AI-assisted
  • Offline 360° recording via Quick Capture — works without connectivity
  • Voice commands during capture for hands-free issue logging
  • AI transcribes audio and pre-fills inspection checklist templates
  • AI-generated topics and draft summary once video is uploaded
  • Inspection report instantly ready — no manual notes to consolidate
  • 360° video becomes permanent site documentation, accessible 24/7

Avatour Kit Deployment Modes

Avatour is flexible about how a 360° camera reaches a site. The table below covers all deployment modes — from situations with no Avatour kit on site, through to permanent local installations.

Kit Availability Deployment Mode How It Works
No Avatour Kit on SiteUse any 360° cam or smartphone Bring Your Own Device Ask your site management or business partner (e.g. a supplier) to record a site tour using any 360° camera or even a smartphone. Upload the recorded video to Avatour for on-demand review or to discuss together in a meeting. If a live view is needed, the onsite person can join via smartphone. All Avatour collaboration and review features remain fully available — only the Avatour-supported camera hardware is absent.
Avatour Kit on SiteFull live + recorded capability Local Partner An Avatour kit is held by a trusted local partner at or near the site — for example a translator, auditor, or service provider. They operate the kit on behalf of your team when needed.
Travelling Kit A team member travels to the site carrying the Avatour kit in its compact hard case. Other stakeholders join the live meeting remotely. Ideal for periodic visits where permanent kit placement is not warranted.
Sending Kit Domestic The Avatour kit is shipped directly to where it is needed. Kit operation is straightforward enough for onsite personnel to run without prior training. Sending the kit across international borders is not recommended due to potential customs complications.
Your Local Kit An Avatour kit is permanently stationed at your own site or at a business partner's site. Always available for live meetings, recorded tours, or solo inspections — no shipping or logistics required.
Their Local Kit Your business partner — such as a supplier, contractor, or facility operator — owns and operates their own Avatour kit. They can initiate sessions independently and invite your team to join remotely.
