The Apple Vision Pro supports WebXR, but it's buried behind a settings menu. Here's how to update it so that you can use Avatour in Full Immersive mode.
WebXR is the latest and by far the most successful attempt to create a cross-platform immersive web. Apple has enabled "experimental" support for WebXR in the Safari browser on Apple Vision Pro, but you'll have to work a bit to enable it. Here's how to do it:
- Open the Settings app from your app menu.
- Select Apps.
- Select Safari.
- Scroll to the bottom and select Advanced.
- Scroll to the bottom and choose Feature Flags.
- Under Experimental XR Features, enable both WebXR Device API and WebXR Hand Input Module.
- Under WebKit Feature Flags, enable both WebXR Augmented Reality Module and WebXR GamePads Module.
- Exit Settings.
- Open Safari and visit a WebXR-enabled page like this one. You'll have to choose a button on the site's UI and approve a permissions window each time you want to enter Fully Immersive mode.
