For Live Capture, set the USB Mode in your camera’s Settings menu to match your device (Android).
For Offline Capture, or to use the Superfreeze feature during Live Capture, your camera must have a storage card installed. Visit the Insta360 Support site for information on compatible SD cards.
To ensure accurate stabilization, you should periodically run a Gyro Calibration procedure on your camera. If you’ve never done this, you should do it before your first Avatour capture. (Instructions for One R / One RS)
If you have problems connecting or using your Insta360 camera, make sure you have the latest firmware using the Insta360 mobile app. (Instructions for One R / One RS)
The Avatour app uses your mobile device’s audio connection for live capture. You can either use your device’s speakerphone, or connect a Bluetooth audio device using the Bluetooth setup menu on your device.
Visit this Knowledge Base article for an overview of recommended Bluetooth audio devices for Avatour meetings.
By default, your camera will use its built-in microphones during Offline Capture. In noisy environments this may not be desired.
The One R and One RS cameras allow the direct connection of a Bluetooth device for use as a microphone during Offline Capture. While the menus specifically reference Airpods, in our experience any Bluetooth device may be used. (Instructions for One R / One RS)
For Live Capture with the Insta360 cameras, you must connect the camera’s USB port to your Android phone using the appropriate Insta360 cable. This proprietary cable is required; other cables with the same connectors will not work. If you don’t have this cable you can purchase it at the below link:
After connecting the camera and powering it on, launch the Avatour mobile app, create an account if necessary, and log in. Choose the “360 Camera” tab and check camera connection. If you see a green checkmark, you’re ready to start live capture.
Avatour organizes live and offline sessions into Workspaces, which are displayed in the Workspace tab of your Avatour app. Choose the correct Workspace, and you will be prompted to start your live capture.
You can operate the camera in standalone mode, using the camera’s own display and controls, or remotely using the Insta360 mobile app. We recommend the use of the mobile app for simplicity of operation and export.
Be sure to set your camera in 360 mode.
Avatour recommends the following capture settings:
Offline Captures are stored on your camera’s SD card. In order to add them to the Avatour platform, you must export them from your camera and then upload them to Avatour. You can export using either your mobile device or a desktop/laptop computer.
